This H&M blazer and these Boden checked culottes are two staple pieces in my fall wardrobe this year! The blazer goes with so many outfits and is long enough to wear as a light coat. Some blazers feel snug and uncomfortable but this one has a roomier fit (I am wearing a small) and the fabric is not too stiff – it is just so easy – it calls to me every morning, so I keep reaching for it! The culottes are made of soft wool and are a great alternative to jeans (does anyone else get sick of wearing jeans?). If I want to dress down this outfit, I swap the boots for my trusty big white dad sneakers. As the temps drop in New York, the blazer obviously won’t be warm enough on it own, so I will just layer a big coat on over it – I always love the look of coats over blazers.
I hope everyone is having a great Monday in the lead up to Thanksgiving! We are heading for Hawaii today for five days and will be celebrating Thanksgiving at the beach! My mom turns 70 this month so our family is taking her on this trip for her birthday. Am really looking forward to it, although I had literally just put away all of our summer stuff in storage so had to dig it out again to pack for this trip! My mind is totally on coats, blazers, boots and sweaters right now – I love fall and winter fashion – and I can’t get my head around putting on a swimsuit tomorrow afternoon when we land, yikes!
