The perfect summer dress for a hot day

Happy Wednesday!  We are back in New York City this week and it is hot, hot, hot and steamy in the city!  This Chicwish dress has been perfect for these temps!  It is made of lightweight cotton broderie anglaise.  I love the midi length, the empire waist, and the ruffles at the straps.  I have already washed it in the washing machine too – and it has held up just fine.  Another great Chicwish find I will wear for years on hot summer days and on vacation!

Add a pop of color to a neutral or light color palette

The pale blush pink of this dress has the potential to look a little washed out, so I decided to pair it with my new turquoise earrings that I ordered from Net-a-Porter from Ranjana Khan.  I’ve always been wary of heavy statement earrings, because I really do not want to get stretched out ear lobes.  But these are lightweight and clip on!  I wore them the entire day yesterday and my ears did not hurt at all.  They are pretty pricey but, to me, are worth it, as I don’t buy too many pairs of earrings.  And so many compliments every time I wear these!

The most popular Zara shoe of 2019…

Also, I just want to say a few words about these Zara sandals. According to Instagram, these strappy mid-heel leather sandals are the most popular shoe from Zara for 2019 (read the article here!). I got them in April, and have worn them so much since then!  This style of strappy sandals, called “naked sandals” by Net-a-Porter, are on trend and all over Instagram – so many brands have made versions of these.  I am really glad I got them and will continue to wear them through October (it is still warm in NYC through Halloween!).  Zara shoes have always been good but I feel like they are just getting better and BETTER!  I got this pair of gold strappy sandal heels yesterday that I plan to wear with cargo pants and a blazer into fall as well.

Thanks for stopping by!
